Schaumburg Swimming & Diving Team Represents Pediatric Cancer Organization In The Pool

Bookmark and Share

During the month of September, the Schaumburg girls swimming & diving team represented a group called Cal's Angels by wearing special swim caps bearing the Cal's Angels logo on them.

Cal's Angels is an organization that provides support and awareness for pediatric cancer patients.

Schaumburg girls swimming & diving coach Tim O’Grady collected the following quotes from his team members on why representing Cal's Angels was important to the Saxons:

“I think it is so important to support this organization because of what they are trying to do and who they are trying to help out. I know from personal experience that going through a time in your life with a child that is very sick requires a lot of help and support, so I think that when they know that our team and our entire school is supporting them it will really lift their spirits and help them get through those tough times.”

“It means a lot because I know I'm supporting a organization that's doing a lot for kids with cancer and their families. This least I could do is support them by wearing the cap.”

“It's important because we are representing an organization that does so much for both the children and families suffering from the effects of cancer. Wearing the cap leave
s me with a strong message because it reminds me to swim my hardest for those kids that are suffering from cancer, or any terminal illness. The small struggles in practice are nothing compared to what those children go through.”
