Long-time Daily Herald sportswriter John Radtke was honored with his IHSA Distinguished Media Service Award at his alma mater, Burlington Central High School, on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Radtke was recognized during halftime of the contest against Hampshire, where he was presented a plaque by IHSA Assistant Executive Director Scott Johnson, before addressing the crowd. Radtke was joined by several Daily Herald colleagues to celebrate the accolade, including 2013-14 IHSA Distinguished Media Service Award Bob Frisk & long-time Daily Herald sports editor Tom Quinlan.
