Mr. Tim McConnell, principal of Erie High School was appointed to the Board of Directors in July of 2012.  He represents Division 4. Prior to that, Mr. McConnell served on the IHSA Legislative Commission since 2010, representing District 11. 

Mr. McConnell’s involvement in interscholastic sports began at LaHarpe High School where he participated in football and basketball.  After high school he attended Monmouth College were he participated in football.  After graduating from Monmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in history, Mr. McConnell started his teaching career in 1994 at ROWVA High School in Oneida as a history teacher.  While there he served as the assistant football coach and junior high basketball coach for eight years.

After completing his master’s degree in educational administration from Western Illinois University in 2002, Mr. McConnell moved into administration as the High School Principal at Erie High School from 2002 to the present.

Mr. McConnell and his wife Andrea have three children -- Owen, Paige, and Kate -- and he remains involved in athletics by coaching the various youth sports his children have participated in over the years.
